All Publishers Confirm Participation in Amar Ekushey Book Fair

The Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 will be the shortest fair to date, starting on February 26, 2026, and ending March 15, 2026, after several days of uncertainty from both parties involved in the fair. More than 300 publishers previously announced their intention to boycott this year’s fair due to Ramadan-related scheduling issues and other concerns regarding stall assignments. They also expressed disappointment over a postponement of the fair by over a month. However, discussions among the government, Bangla Academy officials, and publisher representatives ultimately resulted in a resolution allowing for a successful event. The Fair will be opened by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Mr. Tarique Rahman, and all stalls will be provided free of charge to the participating publishers. It is assumed that over 500 publishing houses will take part in the fair.
